Our Work
Research Outreach dedicates itself to providing students with a variety of resources and support to help members find and pursue research opportunities available at UCI, as well as assisting members in their non-research related academic journeys. Below are glimpses of our mission so far.
Qiao Lab Tour
We offered students an unprecedented opportunity to explore a research lab at UCI. In collaboration with Dr. Qiao, students got to know the tools and settings a wet-lab has to offer and get a glimpse of what it means to do research.
Interview Workshop + Boba Social
Students heard from our officers and their firsthand experiences as well as their recommendations to impressing at interviews. Following an engaging meeting, students continued conversations at Cha for Tea!
Mentor-Mentee Match Day
Following an introduction between prospective mentees and mentors, ROUCI announced the definitive partnerships at a meeting that celebrated the beginning of an enriching journey!
Undergraduate Research Panel + Sgt. Pepperoni's
A variety of students engaged in undergraduate research gathered to discuss their journeys, give advice, and answer members' questions. Afterward, students joined us for pizza at Sgt. Pepperoni's!
Lab Skills Demo
Life in a wet-lab requires certain skills and techniques students don't often encounter until necessary. ROUCI presents students with the unique opportunity to gain experience with pipettes and microscopes.
MARS Bonding Event
To take a break ROUCI invited MARS mentor-mentee pairings to enjoy a fun day of cookie decorating! Chatter filled the air as mentors and mentees bonded over frosting, sprinkles, and treats.
Xu Lab Tour
ROUCI was delighted to present students with another opportunity to explore an available research lab on campus. Dr. Xu and his team welcomed members with presentations and discussions about their neural circuit mechanisms and mouse models.
MARS Study Hours
As Winter Quarter came to a close and finals approached, ROUCI members gathered to study for finals. The atmosphere was a focused one, but in between students could recharge their minds with hot chocolate, cookies, and snacks.
